Stage 1 (11th Jan 2017 - 10th Feb 2017)

Stage I: Registration

11th January 2017

Commencement of nomination process for 3 students and 1 teacher through the Embassy or High Commission of India

Indian Embassies and High Commissions  across the Asia-Pacific region will be contacted to nominate a school in their country of accreditation  to send names of 3 students and a teacher to join the programme.

10th February 2017

Completion of the registration process for schools

All nominees will complete all registration formalities.


 

Stage 2 (13th Feb 2017 - 14th Mar 2017)

Overview

Stage II: Getting ready for the Asia-Pacific Schools Initiative

13th February 2017

Readiness kits will be dispatched to participants

These contain a detailed overview of the programme, readings and references as well as pre-programme assignments to be completed and sent back

1st March 2017

Deadline for sending back the pre-programme assignments

Students and teachers will work on and complete their pre-programme assignments and mail them back. Asia-Pacific Schools Initiative Core group will provide support and guidance where needed.

2nd March – 14th March

Contextualising the programme to individual interests of participants

The Asia-Pacific Schools Initiative Core Group will evaluate the completed assignments of each participant to ensure that the programme is adapted and contextualised to individual interests and needs.


 

Stage 3 (15th Mar 2017 - 30th Mar 2017)

Programme at Jhalawar

15th March

Commencement of Jhalawar Programme

All participating schools will arrive in Delhi and report to the Asia-Pacific Schools Initiative Core group by 17:00 hours. They will depart for Jhalawar at night

16th March to 30th March

Programme at Jhalawar

This is the first part of the ‘Leadership through Serene Strength’ Programme, where the students and teachers will be introduced to the watermarks and skills integral to the programme through various learning experiences in different Areas of Exploration. They will also plan the way forward for the rest of the programme.

30th March

Depart Jhalawar for Delhi on 30th night

The group will travel back to Delhi by train

31st March

The first Jhalawar programme ends

Students reach Delhi and depart for home


 

Stage 4 (1st Apr 2017 - 2nd Oct 2017)

Overview

Programme at Jhalawar

1st April to 31st May

Phase 1

Sharing experience and aims of the programme with the school community; plan their projects with the help of the peers and local community. Working on individual roadmaps, on the inter-country project with the Inter-country group.

2nd June to 1st August

Phase 2

The various groups will continue work on their areas of exploration – through online collaboration with their Inter-country groups and through direct contact with school and community.

3rd August to 2nd October

Phase 3

The various groups will continue work on their areas of exploration – through online collaboration with their Inter-country groups and through direct contact with school and community.

3rd August to 2nd October

Phase 4

The various groups will conclude work on their areas of exploration – through online collaboration with their Inter-country groups and through direct contact with school and community.

They will complete their school group presentation to be made at Jhalawar before leaving for Delhi.



 

Stage 5 (15th Nov 2017 - 1st Dec 2017)

Stage 4: Concluding Programme at Jhalawar, Agra and Delhi

15th November

Participants reach Delhi;  depart for Jhalawar at night

All participants will arrive in Delhi and report to the Asia-Pacific Schools Initiative Core group by 17:00 hours

16th November –26th November

Conclusion/ closure/ synthesis/ sharing of experiences at Jhalawar;

Inter-country groups get together and create joint presentations, to be shared with and assessed by the entire group. School groups presentation will be similarly shared and assessed. Based on feedback, presentations will be redeveloped for a larger audience in Delhi. Progress and achievements in individual roadmaps will also be shared.

27th November

Depart Jhalawar for Jaipur

Participants will spend the night at Jaipur

28th November

Day at Jaipur

Sightseeing and train back to Delhi.

29th November

Preparing for final presentations

Setting up the exhibition/posters for the School Presentations, sightseeing in Delhi

30th November

Way forward session, followed by celebration

Morning: Presentation to external experts;

Afternoon: Post-programme way forward finalisation; feedback on the programme, suggestions for design of the next programme.

Evening: Valediction, presentation of Certificates, Dossier and Fellowship. Celebration

1st December

Depart for home
